Our Vineyards

Frwvineyard01_2Our vineyards are planted on the slope of the Niagara Escarpment to take advantage of this area's unique micro-climate. Growing conditions are ideal thanks in part to well drained soil, consistent air circulation, and most importantly, the interaction with the slope of the escarpment and Lake Ontario.

Frwvineyard03Currently we have 15 acres of vinifera grapes planted including pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot, riesling, and chardonnay. We have every intention to continue planting more acreage in the future and we plan on experimenting with different varietals and viticulture practices. Chip Manning does a magnificent job of attending to our vineyards as well as the rest of our sprawling 90+ acre farm. Our vines are still quite young and we are looking forward to our first substantial harvest this fall. We planted our rows 9 feet apart and our vines are planted with five feet between each.
